Anagen is basically one of the four stages of hair growth cycle. It is known that our hair has an average lifecycle between 2 to 7 years. Our hair grows through 4 stages namely - anagen, catagen, telogen and exogen. The latter 2 are the decline stages. Anagen is the first stage of hair growth. It is said that over 80% of hair is in this stage. In each stage the stay within each depends on the diet intake and nutrients available to boost hair growth. The length to which you can grow your hair is determined by your individual anagen cycle. The hair cycles trough 3 different phases. The anagen phase is where the hair is actively growing. The next phase is where the hair stops growing and rests before transitioning to the telogen phase. It then falls out and a new hair forms from the same follicle. Someone who has an anagen phase of say, three years will never be able to grow their hair mid-back. Whereas someone with an anagen phase of 20 years can basically make shoes out of the length.
There are three phases. 1. Anagen-Growth 2. Catagen- Transitional 3. Teleogen- Resting
Hair growth occurs in three main stages: anagen (active growth phase lasting 2-7 years), catagen (transitional phase lasting 2-3 weeks), and telogen (resting phase lasting 2-4 months). During anagen, the hair follicles are actively producing hair; in catagen, hair growth stops and the follicles shrink; and in telogen, old hairs are shed to make way for new growth.
The mature hair follicle goes through a cycle of growth (anagen), regression (catagen), rest (telogen) and shedding (exogen). This is a regenerative and developmental process with the follicle undergoing reform and remodeling.
It means that the hair that fell out of your hair is in anagen phase, meaning it is still in the growth phase rather than the resting phase. Hairs in the resting phase will typically have a white tip. Sometimes with dark fine hair it's hard to tell as they may all look black if the lighting is not bright.
