a device used to convert a process measurement (i.e. temp, pressure, level) to an analog value which is typically 4-20 mA of electrical current. For instance you need to measure the temperature of water in a pipe. An RTD or a thermocouple will be attached in a way that it can sense the temp. The transmitter will read the temp from which ever you use and convert it into milliamps. So if the range of the transmitter is 0-100 degrees F at 0 degrees the transmitter will output 4mA at 100 degrees it will output 20mA. also 50 dgrees would be 12mA.

What is the difference between analog and digital transmitter?

In a analog transmitter the RF carrier have to be modulated with the analog signal either by AM or FM where in digital transmitter the carrier is simply switched on and off a off = a zero and on = a one

Where can you buy a used analog TV transmitter - Channel 7?

I have a whole inventory of used television transmitters in VHF and UHF. Please write to pattroni@abctranslations.net

Exampl for analog communication?

In Analog communication, the analog message signal modulates some high carrier frequency inside the transmitter to produce modulated signal.this modulated signal is then transmitted with the help of a transmitting antenna to travel through the transmission channel. At the receiver, this modulated signal is received and processed to recover the original message signal. Example: AM , FM radio transmission an TV transmission.

What are the advantages of digital and analog transmission?

digital transmission changes information to numbers adds a checksum or hash so if there is a transmission error or receiver error the receiver can call the transmitter and tell it to resend analog transmission modulates the info onto a carrier and casts it to the winds the receiver picks it up and gotta live with it if there is a lightning storm around and you think you didnt understand you can call the transmitter(DJ) and tell him to resend

How does a UART convert an analog signal to a digital signal?

A UART does not convert an analog signal into a digital signal. It converts a serial digital signal into a parallel digital signal, and vice versa. The letters UART stand for Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter. It is, fundamentally, a pair of shift registers.

Will you get the same channels in digital that you get analog?

Not necessarily, many stations have changed frequencies (channels) and transmitter location for HD transmission. Don't forget to rescan the TV every few months.

How could a digital signal from outer space be picked-up?

Radio "signals" are always analog, not digital. To send a digital signal, it must be converted to analog format, and then the received signal has to be re-converted to digital. So the Voyager and Viking space probes, for example, include a digital-to-analog converter attached to the radio transmitter, and the radio receivers here on Earth are routed through an analog-to-digital converter to make sense of them. You yourself may have such an "analog-to-digital" converter; they are called "modems", or "modulator/demodulator".

Why can't I receive a digital channel when I could the same analog?

I suppose you have a HDTV, many stations changed frequencies and transmitter locations. Also you need to rescan the set. look in the menu for this function.

How are digital signals in radio broadcast converted to analog signals inside digital transmission equipment before sending the signals to the antenna for transmission?

The digital signals is not converted BACK to analog! it is transmitted in digital form and the receiver is converting it back to analog to drive the speakers. The signal from the microphone is converted from analog to digital with an A/D converter chip, digital signals consist of pulses of different lengths that is switching the transmitter on and off in about the same way as the old Morse code transmissions but at a much higher rate (millions of times higher)
