The Greek religion was polytheists, which means that they believed in many gods and godness. They had a god for everything, most people just know about the 12 Olympians gods (Zeus, Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, Hera, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Dionisio, Aphrodite, Hephaestus and Demeter), but they had lots of minor gods, they had gods for winds, for sleep, etc. They had so many gods and goddess that they could hardly blame themselves for anything because the gods were everywhere.

Their gods were not as the actual gods of the actual religions, the Greek's gods were more human, they had lots of human characteristics as their weakness. Because they were so human, they usually came down to the Earth to have children s with mortals.

There is a place in Greece that is called Mount Olympus and over that place there was supposed to be the real mount Olympus where the gods lived.
