Another name for the predicate in a sentence is a Verb. The Predicate tells what the action is. It's the verb in the sentence.
"Another animal with a strange name" is the subject. "is the Platypus" is the predicate. "Another" & "with a strange name" all modify the noun "animal". "is" is the verb. "Platypus" is a proper noun, but in this sentence it is used as an indirect object in the predicate, and refers to the "animal with a strange name" in the subject. "animal with a strange name" is the object of the sentence.
