Nature preserves are areas set aside to conserve plants and animals. These areas offer protection to native plants and animals.
Wolves, like most endangered species, suffer from loss of habitat because people are cutting down forests to make room for farms, housing developments, cattle ranches etc. If more land could be set aside as a nature preserve, then fewer species would be endangered. Whether this is an economically realistic plan, is another question.
