Another name for the Christian Scriptures is the New Testament. Another name for the Old Testament is the Jewish Scriptures. The Jewish Scriptures and the Christian Scriptures are sometimes used as more politically correct terms for the Old Testament and New Testament of the Bible.

ANOTHER ANSWER:

The name "Christian" isn't given by God, but began as a derogatory label leveled by the world upon the followers of Christ. It was begun during Barnabus' and Saul's year-long stay in Antioch, when they taught a group of Gentile converts there the Hebrew Scriptures and the ways of God.

"...Both of them stayed there with the church for a full year, teaching great numbers of people. (It was there at Antioch that the believers were first CALLED Christians.)..." (Acts 11:26-27 NLT New Living Translation).

Biblically speaking, there is no such thing as "Christian Scriptures." And the only Scriptures around in those days were the scrolls of what we call the "Old Testament," today.

The OLD TESTAMENT scrolls were the ONLY SCRIPTURES AROUNDby which Barnabus, Saul [Paul], Peter, John, Mark, Luke, etc... and JESUS, HIMSELF "taught the Truth about CHRIST!" Jesus said to His disciples before He ascended into heaven:

"...'I told you EVERYTHING WRITTEN ABOUT ME by MOSES, and the PROPHETS and in the PSALMS must all come true.'" (Luke 24:44 NLT)

It's an unconverted world; spiritually blinded and ignorant of God's Truth that NAMED God's servants "Christians"... not God. And God doesn't call any of the Scriptures "Christian Scriptures." That's a satanic contrivance to keep Christ as merely another divided "false religion" in the world, instead of grasping and understanding the TRUTH that the Scriptures are for ALL OF MANKIND, and not just for a select group of "Jews" or "Christians."

God didn't recruit Saul [Paul] to go to "Christians!" God sent him to the GENTILES, who are EVERY OTHER RACE IN THE WORLD OTHER THAN JEWS! Jesus went to the Jews FIRST... and it was their rejection of Him that OPENED THE DOOR for ALL THE OTHER RACES OF THE WORLD to come to an understanding of God's Truth through the Scriptures. Which in the early days of Paul's ministry was the OLD TESTAMENT.

When Paul wrote his "letters" of instruction and edification of God's Truth to the Gentile churches at Corinth, Ephesus, Philippi, etc.: he wasn't thinking to himself: "Well, I guess I'll write another book of the New Testament that I'll call the Christian Scriptures!" No... he wrote to the Gentile churches of THE SCRIPTURES OF THE OLD TESTAMENT, in a whole new attitude of "spiritual understanding" THAT CHRIST TAUGHT HIM was missing from the writings of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.

The New Testament Scriptures [the writings of Paul and the apostles] "illuminate" the Old Testament ones, that man is missing a vital element in life: the SPIRITUAL element. Like the fact that the Ten Commandments aren't PHYSICAL LAWS, written on a plaque and hung on a wall!

"For WE KNOW that THE LAW IS SPIRITUAL: but I am carnal, sold under sin [sin, being the BREAKING OF THE COMMANDMENTS - I John 3:4]... I CONSENT UNTO THE LAW that IT IS GOOD." (Rom.4:14-16)

Jesus Christ didn't "DO AWAY WITH THE LAW" ["...'THINK NOT that I AM COME TO DESTROY THE LAW, or the Prophets: I am NOT COME TO DESTROY, but to FULFILL {fulfill: accomplish, complete, execute, satisfy, perfect]...'" - Matt.5:17] as so many denominations of "false Christianity" teach. Jesus MAGNIFIED it... revealing the deep "spiritual aspect and understanding" of the "workings" of the Law.

Like the fact that "murder" isn't just a "physical act" -- but that murder begins with a SPIRITUAL THOUGHT of "anger," "dislike," and "hatred" -- which in turn "festers" and manifests itself from with us as the PHYSICAL ACT of murder. God is teaching His servants through ALL OF THE SCRIPTURES that man's "Loving, Caring , Respectful, Responsible" relationship with his Creator and his fellowman begins with the GUARDING OF THE THOUGHTS OF ONE'S MIND [spirit].

And that the Laws of God aren't "physical things" that "hang on a wall"... but that God is eventually going to:

"...'PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MIND, and WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS... for ALL SHALL KNOW ME, from the least to the greatest...'" (Heb.8:10).

There are no "Christian Scriptures" from God's perspective. There is only THE BIBLE... the inspired Words of God revealed to us today through those whom God inspired to record them... and they are preserved for any and all of those who "believe" and "obey" what those Words say.

And in the "Last Great Day" of God's plan of Salvation for ALL OF MANKIND and THE WORLD... the presently mysterious and misunderstood books of the Bible [the recorded Words of God] will be OPENED to the understanding of ALL MEN OF ALL RACES AND NATIONS:

"...and the [resurrected] dead WERE JUDGED out of those things which WERE WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS, according to THEIR WORKS..." (Rev.20:12).

"'He that rejecteth Me, and RECEIVE NOT MY WORDS, hath One that JUDGETH HIM: THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN [that are recorded in the BIBLE], THE SAME SHALL JUDGE HIM in the LAST DAY [Judgment Day]..." (John 12:48).

There are no "Christian Scriptures." There is only "God's revealed, written, and preserved WORD." And they aren't intended for Jews, or Christians, or any other separatist group; but for ALL OF MANKIND:

"For ye are ALL the CHILDREN OF GOD [not "Christians"] by Faith in CHRIST JESUS... There is neither JEW nor GREEK [Gentile], there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for YE ARE ALL ONE in CHRIST JESUS. And if ye be CHRIST'S, then are ye ABRAHAM'S SEED, and HEIRS according to the Promise." (Gal.3:26-29)

It's Satan's manifold false religions in the world that keep men apart and hating one another. And pitting Jews and Christians and Muslims, and all the other factions of false gods in the world against one another. The Scriptures don't belong to "Christians" or "Jews"... or even to "Muslims" [who also claim Abraham of the Bible as the source of their god]. For now, the Scriptures are directed at those whom God is calling to understand them. The rest of the world will stumble along in spiritual ignorance [wilderness; spiritual darkness] until the time frame of God's plan comes to its conclusion, and all men well finally know the Truth of God's Word [John 17:17].
