art is expressing yourself through design, economics is desighing art
Political art falls (broadly) under two categories: Propoganda, art used by the state to influence the perception of the people, and Political commentary, like editorial cartoons, where the art is designed to say something about a political idea. Art economics is the business of what sells, and the infrastructure (artists, curators, buyers, transportation and other factors) in place to sell the art. While politics and economics are often closely related (if a dictator bans a peice of art in an area, its price generally increases within that area since it is now more rare) the two are not the same.
At heart, economics is the study of how people make decisions. As such, no matter how mathematical the basic principles of economics may be, it is inherently based on something dirty and imprecise: the actions of irrational people. Any model that tries to predict or explain the behavior of people will, by definition, have error. When it comes to interpreting what is acceptable error and what is flawed theory may come down to more art than science, because at some point, standard errors and t-test statistics can only go so far.
