Jellyfish mating is called spawning. This is where the female expels her eggs in to the sea and a male cast sperm over them

after mating planulae is released from the female which is like the baby eggs, and they drop to the ocean floor, they can lay there for many years, until the conditions are just right and they all bloom or "come out of their egg"

All this means is that the jellyfish does not need another to reproduce.

It provides the male and female itself.

- Seems like inbreeding on a mass scale but that's life.
