A pyramidion (pl. pyramidia) is the uppermost piece or capstone of an Egyptian pyramid or obelisk.

The Washington Monument's pyramidion was cast by William Frishmuth from aluminum, at the time a rare metal as valuable as silver.

A set of eight lightning rods installed in 1934 around the aluminum pyramidion, which protrude above its tip by another 15.2 cm (6.0 in).

There are two windows on a side. You can view the Reflecting Pool and Lincoln Memorial, and you can view the Capital Building from opposite sides of the tower. Are there windows on the other two sides.
