It really depends on which part of Washington state you are in. Western, Northwestern is wet. In the movie Sleepless In Seattle, they talk about the 9 months of rain Seattle gets per year. They weren't lying, it really is that wet. As you move toward the central part of the state and over into eastern Washington it begins to dry out. Spokane has hot dry summers and cold snowy winters. But it is so beautiful in spring. Eastern Washington is a big agricultural area (Washington state apples) and when all the trees are in bloom it's almost surreal.
Washington has two climate zones. On the ocean side of the mountains, them temperature is between 79 and 46. Eastern Washington gets warmer in the summer and colder in the winter. On the Pacific side, there is 200 inches of precipitation a year and the eastern portion as little as 6 inches.
Washington is normally a cold state. During winter, the average temperature is about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. In summer it is mostly 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The average rainfall is about four inches high. The Pacific Ocean warms western Washington in the winter, and cools it down in the summer. Coastal Washington receives more rain 182 days of the year.
Most of the fall, winter, and spring are overcast. It doesn't rain as much as people think and when it does it is more of a drizzle. Depending on where you are it gets pretty foggy at times. It is a lot like London those seasons. Summer, however, is amazing. It never gets too hot and stays warm. It doesn't rain much, but just often enough so everything stays green and hydrated. And all of the water makes this a great boating place.
The average precipitation is about 6 inches of rain.
Washington's weather is mostly kinda cold or windy. but during the summer it can get to 75 or 80 degrees. but mostly just cold, windy and rainy.
