At the time, nobody knew that the radiation from the elements she was working with had great potential for harming life. She worked around a lot of radioactivity for many years and (most likely) died because of it.

Not asa such though as a female scientist she faced sexism - the French Academy of Sciences turned down her appplication even after she had won the Nobel Proize

There was not much to be bad about Marie Curie. She discovered Radium, olonium, and helped with the understanding of radioactivity, although she coined the term, did not discover it herself.
