I have a stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove. Surprisingly, the best way to clean it is with Pledge and a furniture polishing cloth. I use orange Pledge, it smells great. Stainless steel is the best because it does not oxidize (rust).
The best paint would be car paint, but I doubt that it would be possible (or healthy) with the appliance in the kitchen.
