Well as pets, depends what you are looking for.

I have never owned a hamster, but I do own a rabbit.

Here is my experience in these two animals:

Bunnies:

  • They bite hard.
  • They are good at hiding that they are sick.
  • Long-haired rabbits need grooming EVERYDAY.
  • They live up to 10 years or a bit more.
  • They are very friendly once tamed.
  • Needs LOT OF HAY.
  • They can be litter trained, like a cat.
  • You need to give them something to wear their teeth down.

Hamsters:

  • They are nocturnal, probably keep you awake at night
  • They also bite hard
  • Need a running wheel
  • Might escape and might take long time to find them
  • Live 1 or 2 years
  • Good starting pets
  • Good for small children

I don't have much experience in hamsters, since I have never owned one, but that's all I know. Please, please research and make sure that you pick the right pet.

I don't know about hamsters, but lots of bunnies get dumped because they are not wanted, and are left in the bunny shelters... If you think a bunny is right for you, please consider getting one from a shelter. And don't dump it please!

There is no better pet. But there is a better pet for YOU. So choose it wisely.

Research what pet is right for you, and I hope I helped!
