I reckon a ds is better but it is up to you.
If you want two screens, LOTS of games on little game cartridges, a friendly gameplay interface and a camera for DSi and DSi XL that can distort and grafiti photos and eing able to download little games for a little price the DS is for YOU.
If you want one screen, Full touch controls, iPod music player, Apps GALORE and a Camera for iPad 2 the iPad is for you!
