An automatic electric gun would be the best
You are better off using gun oil, or at least a machine oil like sewing machine oil. Vegetable oil kind of smells, olive oil works better, but these organic oils are not as desirable as gun oil. You can use baby oil in a pinch, for a few months at a time. It is better than nothing, but you should wipe it down and replace it with a decent gun oil when you have a chance.
