I would say solar because it could run all day when it is light out, and pretty long at night since the energy is stored into the solar panels. Electric powered cars have to be charged and you don't get to many hours out the charging.
Solar powered cars have a solar panel somewhere on the outside of the car, and the energy is either directly run to the wheels, or charges a battery, which then powers the wheels, where as electric powered cars use only a battery, which can now be charged using a regular plug.
Easiest way is to search the internet for "Solar powered car". There is vast knowledge on the internet on this and plans to design a car to fit your purpose. There are many different designs to check.
It depends upon how the electric car is powered. If its fuel comes from burning coal, the car is not so great for our environment. However, if the electricity generated to power the car comes from wind, solar, geothermal, or hydroelectric, it is much better.

How does a solar powered car stop
Solar powered cars are battery powered cars. The solar array is charging the batteries. So there is no real difference.
A solar-powered car converts solar energy into electrical energy using photovoltaic cells in its solar panels. This electrical energy powers the car's electric motor, enabling it to move. Additionally, the car may utilize batteries to store excess energy for later use, enhancing its efficiency and range.
The cheapest solar powered car is $5,560 (this car is Chinese). The most expensive solar powered car is between $284,000 (Australian) and $1.5 million dollars (possibly American or European)!!
