Soleil's Bi-Quartz is a kind of device which makes the instrument accurate and simple for use with white light (day light) or sodium light. i So, if a plane-polarised beam of white light falls on a plate of quartz to cut at right angles to its axis, it has its plane of polarisation rotated by this quartz. The experiment can further be performed and the readings can readily be taken.
