Well they are both part of the rodent family but they have many differences like the guinea pig is bigger, less flexible, guinea pigs are not supposed to run in wheels or balls cause of their spine is not supposed to bend that way, they have different nutrients that they require so their food is different, i know that guinea pigs can see colours (not sure about hamsters). there is much more things but I am out of what i can immediately think of.
if it is a dwarf hamster and a gerbil then a Gerbil but if you are talking about a regular biggish hamster then it can be the same size but usually the gerbil is bigger
Guinea pigs can grow up to about 20cm-25cm and some species of hamsters can grow up to about 10cm-15cm. Therefore a guinea pig is the larger animal of the two by quite a long way!
Typically, the hamster is bigger in total body mass.
it depends how old they are and how big.
This is a matter of choice. Some people prefer the hamster because it is not as noisy. Guinea pigs are very vocal. The guinea pig may be favored because of its bigger size. Both animals can make good pets.
a guinea pig is absolutely bigger than a hamster hamsters are nearly the same size as mice only just bigger. a guinea pig just overtakes the rabbit and it is quite large for a small pet animal. they behave a lot differently to hamsters as well and behave more like rabbits. yesGuinea pigs are bigger. A hamster is maybe the size of one baseball while a guinea pig will be like 3-4 baseballs long.
No,NEVER,EVER give a guinea pig hamster food.Hamster food contains nuts, which are fine for the hamster but will almost certainly choke your guinea pig. Also hamster food contains corn which is way too fattening for guinea pigs. And lastly a guinea pig needs a lot of vitamin C which guinea pig food has plenty of while hamster food doesn't have nearly enough, plus hamster food has too much protein for guinea pigs.
No it isn't ok. Guinea PIg food is made for Guinea Pigs. Your Cavy will get sick if they do eat hamser food.
a guinea pig can be attacked by anything that is bigger then them!! Be careful!
A hamster is faster as they can stretch more and are smaller. Guinea pigs are fast but as they are bigger they don't move as fast.
you shoudl not put a hamster and a guinea pig in the same cage no matter what.
Probably a Guinea Pig. They are bigger and get sick less often. They also live longer.
guinea pig
a guinea pig.
my adult Syrian hamster is roughly 5 inches long and an adult chipmunk is normally between 8 1/2 and 11 1/2 inches however baby chipmunks will be smaller than Syrian hamsters but approximately the same size as adult dwarf hamsters hope this helps :)
No its not, i guinea pigs cage is way bigger. & you should not have the same size of guinea pig cage as your hampster.
Guinea pigs is a lot bigger than hamsters. A hamster is about the length of one baseball while an adult guinea pig is about the size of three baseballs. In fact, if you place food in front of a grown guinea pig, it can stretch itself to the length of a foot with ease. A hamster wouldn't stretch to that length, not even when forced.
A guinea pig.
