Blood cells and platelets are suspended in blood plasma (mostly water) and moved through the body in blood vessels (arteries, veins & capillaries). The blood is forced through the blood vessels by the heart.

Resperitory system. As your lungs draw air in to your lungs the blood is flowing through your lungs and as you exhale the oxygen is forced through the lung tissue into your blood stream.
Because the arteries wouldn't be able to have blood flow through your body unlike arteries veins are through out your whole body so they can transport blood through your whole body, veins keep your blood circulating
