What are some causes and symptoms for low heart rates?
Also known as braycardia, a low heart rate is one which beats
below 60 beats per minute. A healthy heart should beat between 60
and 100 beats per minute whilst resting. Some of the causes of low
heart rate include age, diseases which attack the heart (coronary
artery disease, heart attack etc.), a low thyroid level, excess
potassium, and medicines which treat blood pressure such as
beta-blockers.
