There are several busses in PC motherboards, but you probably mean the Front Side Buss. This is a set of parallel conductors that all of the data in a PC travels to and from the CPU by. It's called a buss, as in the old term "buss bar", because all of the peripherals in the PC connect to it in parallel. Each peripheral only read/writes to this buss when it is addressed by the CPU.
