How do you raise hood on my 91 ranger when the cable is broken and not anything moves?

I haven't seen the grill of a 91 ranger specifically but as a fireman we have to open lots of car hoods to put out fires underneath. Many times the cableing has burnt through. Without using brute force tactics you may be able to look through the grill directly under where you put your hand to open the hood once its popped. If you can identify the wire you can grab it with pliers and pull or twist until the hood pops. I hope that helps. Good luck they can be tricky.

Why does each workstation need a network card?

Because without the network card in the work station it would have no way to communicate with the central server which probably stores all the information centrally, obviously. It is also related to the sharing of printers and the internet around in the network. Therefore the use of the network card is to allow communication between the work station and the server via ethernet cables and network bridges. These could also be wireless meaning cableing would not be needed, but are not as quick or reliable, and also has a far greater risk of getting hacked into the network.

What is the name of the latest twisted cable?

According to the IEEE version 802.6. This supports ethernet cable rated at category 6. What does this mean to you and me? Our cable and dsl providers a pushing the 6 mb/sec, not exactly speeds worthy of this cableing. The category 5 rated ethernet cable can handle through its twisted pairs 10 mb/sec transfer by 100mb/sec. Category 5e standard ethernet cables goes up to 100mb/s and the new cat6 is 1gb/sec. Most of us do not have internet connections this fast, but the internet service providers are ramping up their connections with the standards commercially for us to see an improvement of the next several years. Visit AT&T for their latest break throughs in this technology with their efforts to provide television through your web browser.

What is 10 100 1000base t in networking?

10baseT is the designation for ethernet LAN running on twisted pair cable at 10 megabits per second using cables and hardware compatible with 10baseT. 100baseT, also called Fast Ethernet, uses twisted pair cable where data transfer occurs at 100 megabits per second with cables and hardware compatible with 100baseT. 1000baseT (gigabit ethernet) runs at 1000 megabit per second or 1 gigabit with cables and hardware capable of maintaining that speed. The higher speed cables and hardware are supposed to be compatible with the earlier slower speed. The T in 10..baseT indicates that it uses twisted pair cabling (called category 5, 5e, 6, 6a depending on the speed it can handle) with various rules about the cables regarding insulation, shielding, connection rules and a maximum cable distance of about 100 meters. Earlier versions of ethernet used different cableing. 10base5 used a special thick coaxial cable, ran at 10 megabits per second with a maximum cable length of about 5 hundred meters. 10base2 used thinner cheaper coaxial cabling and connectors, also ran at 10 megabits per second but with a maximum cable length of about 200 meters. Both of these are considered obsolete having been replaced by the twisted pair cable.
