Bone tissue is composed of bone cells (or osteoblasts). Bones are highly dynamic in the sence that they keep alternating between dense and porous states. As the age of the individual advances, the pores become filled with calcuim resulting in what is called a calcified matrix.

This matrix is a good support for growing bone tissue.

Normally, in the event of injury to a bone or

joint, the body will reinforce the injured

part with calcium deposits which redisolve

when the joint heals. But these calcium

deposits can persist as chronic Arthritis. This is what is meant by clacified bone.

calcified soil in Canadian geography is: IN dry climates water carrying dissolved minerals in the soil moves upwards though the soil. At the surface the water evaporates, leaving the minerals behind. The surface soil is then consided calcified, and where all the minerals are at the top of the soil, plants can't grow unless you add water so it will move back down into the soil, this type of soil does not have a high humas level.
