In Thomas Malory's La Morte d'Arthur (The Death of Arthur) one of the best sources for Arthurian Legend it's called Carlion. Geoffrey of Monmouth, Wace, and Layamon called Camelot Caerleon. Geoffrey gives a very elaborate back story of Caerleon.
