Campho phenique is mostly used in my family to trear small cuts or fever blisters. Because it has a slight analgesic property it reduces pain from small cuts. It is also antimicrobial.
Have called the manufacturer listed on the tin that I have had for YEARS. Glenbrook Laboratories, a division of Sterling Drug, Inc., NY, NY 10016. They no longer make the product and as far as they know, it is not in production. Current bottles of Campho-Phenique list Bayer Healthcare, LLC as the manufacturer out of Morristown, NJ. I did not check with them. Found someone that was selling a tin on Ebay - the name on the front of the tin was 'James F. Ballard, Inc., of St. Louis, MO.
