Carbohydrates are one of three main nutrient groups (the other two being fat and protein). They are extremely important sources of energy, particularly sustaining energy that will help a child feel full and have enough energy to go from breakfast to lunch or lunch to supper without getting sleepy.
Pure alcohol does not contain carbohydrates. If you are talking about alcoholic beverages, the hard liquors that are highest in alcohol content, like whiskey, gin or vodka would probably contain the fewest carbohydrates.
You use different working surfaces and utensils for different foods eg meat and fruit and veg. You then always have to wash up all the surfaces it has touched ect. especially with raw meat which can contain many germs such as salmonella. To store food you put meat ect. on the bottom so if it drips it will drip onto nothing and dairy products next lowest and then fruit and veg at the top unless it is in a veg box at the bottom. Some people even put meat in a different fridge. Most carbrohydrates don't go in a fridge and can go in a larder or draw.
