A low coolant level could cause the temp gauge not to read correctly. A faulty temp gauge sending unit could also be the cause. The coolant leak, you would have to find the source of the leak to determine the cause.

The symbol used on the Renault Scenic for a problem with the radiator is a thermometer. There should also be a temperature gauge on the dash that shows the current temperature of the radiator fluid.

What could be causing a 1998 Chevy Blazer to be smelling like radiator fluid in the cab and causing windows to fog up?

heatercore

How do you fix water leaking into transmission fluid?

Coolant? Bad radiator Radiator has a separate cooling tank (usually at the side or bottom of radiator) for transmission fluid. At times this tank ruptures allowing coolant to get into transmission. Most times causing a transmission failure.

Why does the radiator fan come on when the key is turned but the 1990 Chevy Corvette does not start?

to make sure the temperature of the fluid in the radiator is cool enough

Where does radiator fluid go?

Unless your radiator has a leak, the radiator fluid stays in the radiator.

Will the radiator over flow make the transmission go up?

If you mean does the transmission fluid level rise, the usual problem is a leak in the trans cooler built in to the radiator. Depending on engine temperature fluid will transfer back and forth between the radiator fluid and the auto trans fluid changing the level and color of both.

Which is better water or radiator fluid?

radiator fluid

What are the chances of your transmission working properly if your radiator cracked?

not good since most transmission coolers are inside the radiator. if you drive a car with a cracked radiator you can overheat the trans fluid causing the fluid to break down and also you run the risk of damaging the head/head gasket(s).

Why would your coolant leak on your 2002 Chevy pickup?

There are a number of reasons: 1. Faulty thermostat can cause the fluid to overheat and expand; thus causing the fluid to vent from the overflow pipe. 2. A punctured radiator hose, or a broken seal can cause loss of fluid. 3. Damaged radiator core.

What is causing a 97 Geo Prizm to overheat when the fluid level in the radiator is full?

You could have a stuck thermostat or your cooling fans aren't working.

Where is the radiator bleeder valve on a 94 silverado?

The 94 did not have a radiator bleed valve on them. They have a DRAIN valve in the bottom right corner to drain the fluid. Just leave the radiator cap loose and let it run while watching the temperature and fluid level. If it starts to run HOT, then turn it off and let it set for about 10 mins are so. Then start it back up and fill the radiator with fluid as needed.

Does a car engine get hot when it runs?

An engine of a car burns gasoline inside the piston chambers. This makes the temperature to be hot when running. The radiatorfluid that cools the engine becomes hot also, where a fan and air entering the front of the radiator cools the fluid several degrees lower to mantain the temperature in an specific temperature range. When the temperature of the eninge is not controlled, it overheats causing damage to it.
