Who was Bluewon Chung?
Bluewon Chung was the oldest Chung triplet, born April 23, 1987. According to family members, Bluewon was by far the most talented Won-spawn. He excelled at everything he did. He was a straight-A student, and was popular with both teachers and peers, particularly the girls. Initially recruited for his high school soccer team, Bluewon quit after two seasons and joined the debate team instead, which his brothers Seungwon and Doowon had been involved in for quite some time. Family tensions rose, though, after Bluewon joined the debate squad. He proved to be quite a "phenom" in the debate world which made both Seungwon and Doowon very resentful, so much so that the younger triplets reportedly lit Bluewon's debate research on fire just hours before the Massachusetts state debate tournament began. Seungwon and Doowon went on to win the tournament, while Bluewon and his partner were quickly eliminated on account of having no evidentiary support for their arguments. Shortly after this tournament, Bluewon quit the Lexington debate team, fearing that his oratory talent was causing a strain in his relationship with his brothers. Relations between the Chungs did not improve after Bluewon stopped debating, however. It seemed that whatever game the Chung triplets played together, be it basketball, World of Warcraft, or leapfrog, Bluewon always performed the best. Bluewon was particularly skilled at leapfrog, as well as "choitus," which had always been Seungwon's favorite games. Bluewon's excellence caused him to be alienated from his family for the rest of his much too short life; friends say that Bluewon had become depressed and fatalistic about ever winning the affection of his Chung brethren. He passed away tragically in a car accident on the triplets' 10th birthday. Bluewon had been riding shotgun because Mrs. Chung thought that the oldest should sit in the passenger seat; as a consequence of this favoritism, Bluewon was violently ejected through the front window on impact. The other passengers were largely unharmed. Bluewon is survived by brothers Seungwon and Doowon, his sister Sooyon, as well as his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chung.
