In centrifugal pumps there are two major types of pumps,One is Bare shat pumps and another one is close coupled pumps.Bare shaft pumps having casing,bearing housing with shaft which has to be coupled by means coupling arrangements like love joy,Tyre and spacer type coupling with electric motor.But in the close coupled pumps the motor will looks like a inbuilt arrangement to avoid extra shaft length and shaft deflection.
