I presume you mean intersecting. Two sets are intersecting if they have members in common. The set of members common to two (or more) sets is called the intersection of those sets. If two sets have no members in common, their intersection is the empty set. In this case the sets are called disjoint.
Most materials used to make patio furniture are not going to mold. You will find wrought iron, plastic, and wood sets that have been treated to prevent mold growth. You do have to be careful with any cushions on your furniture, however. You can find some types of mildew-resistant material, but if the cushions get wet, there is only so much that can be done. Try to make sure they stay out of the rain and are allowed to dry thoroughly if they do get wet.
