well you see when the gasoline enters the engine the piston compresses it and then the spark ignites it when it doesn't burn all the commbustable gases in the combustion chamber it goes out the exhaust. so in other words you didn't get all the power out of the gas that went in. since the combustion of the gasoline in the combustion chamber is the engines source of power if the gasoline doesn't completely combust the engine loses power from that. This is why when a vehicle is not firing on one cylinder or more you have a great loss in power. So by making sure your engine combusts the fuel properly you can get a increase in power and performance. A way to do that is to buy high performance spark plugs

What effect di dthe internal combustion engine have on transportation?

The internal combustion engine extended the range of individualized transportation.

What is injection ratio?

Injection ratio refers to the proportion of fuel injected into an engine's combustion chamber compared to the air or total mixture during the combustion process. It is a critical parameter in determining engine efficiency, performance, and emissions. A well-optimized injection ratio ensures complete combustion, enhancing power output while minimizing pollutants. Adjustments to this ratio can significantly impact engine operation, fuel economy, and overall performance.

How does ram air effect a jet engine?

Ram air increases the pressure and temperature of the air entering the jet engine, leading to increased engine performance. This effect is more prominent at higher speeds and altitudes where the air is more compressed and provides a greater oxygen supply for combustion.

What is purpose of the injector of the engine?

The injector in an engine serves the crucial purpose of delivering fuel into the combustion chamber at the correct timing and in an atomized form. This ensures efficient mixing with air for optimal combustion, which enhances engine performance and fuel efficiency. Additionally, it helps reduce harmful emissions by promoting a more complete burn of the fuel. Proper injector function is vital for maintaining overall engine health and performance.

How doe valve lag improve the performance of an engine?

Valve lag improves engine performance by allowing for better control of the intake and exhaust processes. By delaying the opening or closing of the valves, it can enhance the flow of air and fuel into the combustion chamber, optimizing the timing of combustion and improving efficiency. This results in smoother power delivery and increased torque, particularly at various engine speeds. Furthermore, valve lag can help reduce emissions by ensuring more complete combustion.

What is the affect of increasing inlet air temperature in ci engine?

Increasing the temperature of the air at the inlet to any combustion engine will have a degrading effect on the engine's performance. Air expands when heated, and thus a lesser quantity of air is drawn into the combustion chamber. Indeed, turbochargers often have their air temperature cooled so as to allow more air in.

What is nano combustion engine?

A nano combustion engine is a type of engine that utilizes nanotechnology to improve combustion efficiency and performance. By incorporating nano-scale materials, such as catalysts and additives, into the combustion process, these engines aim to achieve higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions compared to traditional combustion engines.

What is atomisation in IC engine?

In internal-combustion engines, the mixing of fuel with air or some other oxidizer within the engine in order to achieve complete and rapid combustion of the fuel.

What is the effect of turbo charger in diesel engine?

A turbocharger enhances the performance of a diesel engine by increasing its air intake, allowing for more fuel to be burned and improving overall efficiency. This results in higher power output and torque without significantly increasing engine size or weight. Additionally, turbocharging helps reduce emissions by promoting more complete combustion of fuel. Overall, it leads to improved fuel economy and engine responsiveness.

Why air fuel mixture is injected in to combustion chamber instite of fuel?

Injecting an air-fuel mixture into the combustion chamber, rather than just fuel, ensures better atomization and mixing of the fuel with air, leading to more efficient combustion. This process helps achieve a more uniform distribution of the fuel, promoting complete combustion and reducing emissions. Additionally, it enhances engine performance by optimizing power output and fuel efficiency. Overall, this method improves the combustion process and contributes to better engine operation.
