Confucianism is a early Chinese religion that started when a Chinese philosopher, Confucius, thought of a way to tie in the patriarchal society with a sort of system of rules and regulations. Constructionists are taught to respect their elders and ancestors, in hope that they will be respected in their old age in after life. Confucius also taught his followers that if a government has outlived its usefulness or is being oppressive it is the peoples right to overtake it; this was called the Mandate of Heaven.
