Cowardliness is a subjective interpretation of a person's character. It is not an inherited trait. As a character trait, it would fall under "negative" traits as it involves a failure to act when one possesses the means, knowledge and physical ability to act. Some are afraid to risk their lives or their reputations. But in a military sense..a coward does not belong in a uniform....one's country and fellow comrades are depending on service and courage.
