CMYK is an initialism standing for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and blacK. These are the key colors associated with color printing because the first three are the primary subtractive colors while black is the most-frequently used color in print. Mixing these colors in appropriate proportions allows a printer to reproduce any other color within the limitations of the print medium.
