Delphi was a town on the slopes of Mount Parnassus in Greece that housed the main temple of the sun god Apollo and site of the famous Oracle (the Oracle of Delphi). In Greek myth, the king of the god, Zeus, wanted to find the center of the world, and released two eagles to find it for him. The eagles met at Delphi, marking it as the center of the world.
