when farmland turns to sand
Deforestation is the destruction of a forest, but when the forest is gone, the land does not necessarily become a desert; it is more likely to become a grassland or savanna. If land does become a desert, then it has undergone desertification.
Yeah, Malaysian-Malays and Filipinos look a like. Because Filipinos and Malays share the same origin. But, Malaysians are easily distinguishable by their names and their clothing. Malaysians have Arabic names, and they were sarongs. Filipinos, have Spanish and English names and they don't wear sarongs.
Deforestation, dessertification, destruction of the soil, land slides (depending on the terrain in which you live. Land slides actually happen a lot in Haiti where they cut down most of the rainforests in their country to make room for agriculture.) Algal blooms in the ocean due to fertilizer run off. Those algal blooms are known as red tide and if a human so much as eats any fish effected they will become extremely ill. Theres probably about another thousand harmful effects from agriculture on the environment and the list could go on. These are just a few. If you want to read up on some of this, There is a book by the name of: The Silent Spring. This book describes in detail how pesticides have been damaging bird populations. I am not sure that's the exact tital but it sounds something like that. Also, CCD, or Colony Collapse Disorder which is experienced by honey bees may be linked to pesticides.
