In case of elastic deformation when the applyed stress disappears, the material returns in its initial form. In case of plastic deformation a remaining shape change occurs.
Until a stress value - what is property of individual material - called flow stress, the material deforms elastically, afterwards plastically.
You can find information about it for example in the following page:

The economic concept of elasticity measures how buyers and sellers respond to shifts in market conditions, such as price changes. The terms "elastic" and "inelastic" describe how the level of supply or demand shifts in response to a change in price.
IDENTIFICATION:If a change in price leads to sharp shift in demand or supply for a particular good, that good is said to be "elastic." If a price change results in little or no change in the level of supply or demand, the good is "inelastic."
SIGNIFICANCE:Elastic goods are, therefore, highly responsive to changes in price, while inelastic goods show little response.
SIZE:Economists calculate elasticity as the percent change in quantity (supplied or demanded) divided by the percent change in price. If the resulting number is greater than 1, the supply or demand of the good is considered elastic. If it is less than 1, it is inelastic.
EFFECTS:Whether the demand or supply of a particular good is elastic or inelastic depends in part on how essential it is to most consumers. Goods that are necessities for consumers everyday lives are more inelastic. Consumers continue to purchase such goods, despite price increases.
CONSIDERATIONS:Demand is more elastic if there are substitutes for a particular product or if it is considered a luxury by most consumers.

Elastic Collision is the collision in which colliding objects rebound without lasting deformation or heat generation.Inelastic collision is a collision in which the colliding objects become distorted and generate heat during collision and possibly stick together.
You think probable to an elastic deformation.
Elastic force is a force which you are acting on it while elastic potential energy is produced when the spring is being compressed or stretched
may be these two terms are synonym
Elastic Potential Energy
Elastic collision transfers more energy into motion while inelastic transfers energy into deformation of the objects. Elastic could be called more efficient transfer.
elastic deformation
Elastic deformation is recoverable deformation. As such, when the load that caused the deformation is removed the material will return to it's original shape.
iT CHANGES THE SHAPE OF THE ROCK BUT DOES NOT CAUSE EARTHQUAKES
elastic deformation, ductile deformation and fracture
Elastic deformation is recoverable deformation. As such, when the load that caused the deformation is removed the material will return to it's original shape.
Young Modulus is the slope of the stress-strain diagram in the linear elastic region. This is the most common use of modulus. As the material goes non-linear in the stress strain curve, thre slope will get increasingly lower. In this case one connects the end points of the stress strain diagram at the point of interest with a straight line. The slope of that straight line is the secant modulus.
after the removal of load if the object regains its original position is called elastic deformation ....If the object cant regain its original position even after the removal of applied load is called plastic deformation...
Mechanical energy (that causes the elastic deformation).
difference between elastic and inelastic demand
Elastic collision transfers more energy into motion while inelastic transfers energy into deformation of the objects. Elastic could be called more efficient transfer.
Elastic deformation is caused by applied forces. It is also when solids are either twisted or pull and then return to its normal shape.
