They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
I have always had geldings and found that they are really calm tempered than mares. Some geldings are rather energetic though.
Mares are rather moody and can be rather naughty. My sister has a chesnut mare and she is a real moody girl. When she is in season; my sister has to watch out because she will run at you and spin her bum around. We have found oustress has really helped though.
If you are thinking of buying a horse; dont let this put you off it is the ability you want more than anything. Some mares are really calm.
Another point of view. Growing up we were only allowed to have mares because geldings could still fret over mares even though they are castrated. A combination of mares and geldings in a herd resulted in a higher injury rate than a non-mixed herd.
Geldings are permanent little boys and often get into "scrapes" and get injured because they are mischevious. A permanently injured gelding is a liability.
Geldings tend to have more consistent behavior on a day to day basis.
Performance stallions are best handled and trained by experienced horsepeople. Their unique mindset lends itself to top notch performance when properly channeled. Improperly handled stallions can be problematic.
Mares have their own unique behaviors. We kept the good "workmanlike" mares and sold the ones with the emotiona issues mentioned above. It would be these mares that were allowed to have foals as well and the best fillies were held back for riding and breeding. The colts were always sold.
We never retained colts good quality stallions were always available.
Well, males of course have male hormones, which will result in them being stronger than most mares (supposing you compare him to a mare exactly like him as far as age, exercise and breed goes) And they will have more boyish behaviors, and most of the time have a greater tendency to act aggressively.
Most mares get moody every month when they come in heat.
Geldings have less of a stallion behavior, and are often valued as the best kind of horse to have because they do not have the monthly moodiness mares get when they come in heat, and they (most of the time) do not have the stallion behaviors either.
A male horse has sperm and a female horse has eggs. The female horse (mare) Carries the foal while the male horse (stallion) Has sex with the mare.
You can also get geldings which are male horses without all the sperm :) lol
Have fun

Stallions have heavier musculature through the head and neck than mares so, in general stallions will tend to be bigger than a mare of the same breed.
actually you can tell if you look under a boys there is a little black thing sticking out! but is you look under a girl there is no black thing sticking out!
The difference between a male horse (stallion) and a gelding horse, is that a gelding horse is a male horse that has been fixed.
If you mean gelding, it is castrating, or "fixing" a male horse. After he was gelded, he would be called a gelding instead of a stallion. If you actually mean glending, then I have no clue what you're talking about, sorry.
what is the difference between a male coyoted and a female coyoted
There is no difference.
There is no difference.
A foal is a baby horse of any gender, while a colt is specifically a male horse under 4 years old. A colt is a male foal under 4 years old (after a year they can be classed as a yearling) but there is no real difference, if you're talking about a male foal you could just call it a colt or a foal. No difference.
a male horse with out nuts

u just kinda look underneath if its there, its male if its not its female :)
I think you mean mare? If so, a mare is a female horse and a gelding is a male horse who cannot reproduce. A stallion is a male that can reproduce.
A hebra is a cross between a Horse and Zebra. Which means that they have a baby together. :) There is also a possibility, that other than a Hebra, comes a Zorse! There is a difference between the two though. What the difference is, is that the hebra has a Male Father Horse and a Female Mother Zebra. And the Zorse has a Male Father Zebra, and a Female Mother Horse. :P
A zorse is the result of a cross between a male zebra and a mare. A hebra is the offspring of a male horse and a female zebra. I think the difference in nomenclature is because the cross between a mare and a male donkey produces a mule, whereas the cross betwween a male horse and a female donkey does not create the same thing... It produces a hinny which looks more like a horse than a donkey. Therefore, different names were created depending on which animal was the sire and the dam.
Answer A male donkey and a female horse. A Hinny is a cross between a male horse and a female donkey.
Cross between a male horse and female donkey. Similar to a mule, which is between a female horse and a male donkey.
Female horse flies (like mosquitoes) require a blood meal in order to procreate. This means that unlike their male counterparts, female horse flies have mandibles. Their small, but can be seen with the naked eye.
what is the difference between a male coyoted and a female coyoted
A foal is any baby horse under a year old. A colt is any intact male horse or foal under the age of four years.
How do you know the difference? A stallion is harder to control, thicker built, and has a sack with two balls in it hanging in between his hind legs. A gelding is missing all these things.
