I presume that you are trying to find the volume of an irregular solid. It is usual to tie a piece of thin cotton around the solid prior to lowering it into the measuring cylinder. This is so that you can control the decent of the object, i.e. it is not dropped into the cylinder causing the water to splash out, thus not giving an accuarate value for volume of the solid.
Why are the ranges in digital instruments overlapped?
If there were no overlapping, when measuring something close to the limit of one range or an unstable signal, the instrument woud be "jumping" between this and the higher (or lower) range, making the readings more difficult and maybe causing you a headache.

Borderline personalities are notorious for causing problems - they play one person against another, try to make you feel guilty for reacting to them, and try to keep you involved in their lives in unhealthy ways. Sex would certainly fit most of those, so it would certainly be something they would think about using as a behaviour. ---------------- Im not sure I agree. one of the issues of being Borderline is that I crave love, care and positive attention. I can only imagine sex is a very good way of feeling that care and love so perhaps there is something in the hypersexual issue. I think the above comment is a bit unfair. We do try all sorts to make you want to stay with us, we have big abandonment issues but our behaviour is more about avoiding abandonment than playing ppl against other ppl.
