There are a couple of possible answers. Molybdenum is used to lube engine parts during rebuild as it has a lower coefficient of friction than steel. However, the person asking the question was probably thinking of carbon in the form of graphite, which is used as a general purpose dry lubricant where it's not expected that the surfaces will become too hot.
Graphite
Graphite (I think)
The disadvantages of carbon dioxide dry cleanings are..........................................................................
Yes, it is a compound, it is made of 2 different elements, it is solid carbon dioxide.
carbon and graphite are one in the same, graphite is a form of carbon a use for graphite is the lead in your pencil (it's not actually lead, it's graphite) and it is also a good lubricant ;)
the demine
Where is Dry fritsion , There is no lubricant oil.
Carbon is an element on the periodic table.
Graphite is a good lubricant because of its giant covalent structure that makes it very slippery because layer of carbon atoms can slide over each other. Graphite is an allotrope of carbon.
it doesnt, it is actually a lubricant!
Carbon is used as fuel,as a lubricant and making pencils and to make jewelery.

all sorts of stuff toner in printers powdered graphite (which is an allotrope of carbon) is used as a dry lubricant filtering water (activated carbon but it's not pure) a bunch of other stuff that i can't think of right now but it's used for all kinds of stuff
Carbon dioxide. Dry ice is made of nothing but carbon dioxide.
Depending on the context, they usually are referring to the same thing. In some cases, people refer to air dry solid film lubricants as dry film lubricants. For more information check link.
