Eclipse is the third novel in The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. The Volturi, since New Moon, wanted Bella to be turned into a vampire because she knows the secret and plans to be with Edward for the rest of her life. Eclipse is also about how Bella is torn between Jacob and Edward. Towards the end, Bella realizes that her love for Edward is stronger and deeper. Bella also realizes that Victoria could be controlling the newborns in Seattle, which makes Charlie trying to keep Bella away from Seattle because of the killing spree by the newborn vampires, but he doesn't know it's from vampires.

Long before the fight, Edward proposes to Bella, and she accepts and gets the ring on her finger. Bella does not want to be married, but it the only way that Edward will change her himself into a vampire and try to have a baby by having sex.

Before the fight, when they are getting closer to the vampires, Edward and Bella go together, by keeping a large amount of space between each other, and Bella has to touch everything that she possibly can. Bella also caught a few loose strands from her hair to make the trail stronger, but Edward reminded her that it wasn't necessary to pull her hair out. The trail was to attract the newborn vampires so the Cullens and the werewolves could kill them.

Then, to get to the campsite, where Bella would say with Edward, so the newborn vampires couldn't get to Bella, Jacob carried her in his arms. This way, the newborn vampires could not smell Bella unless they got on the ground and sniffed the dirt.

It was blazing cold in the night, and Edward didn't sleep (because he was a vampire) so he just talked to Bella alone. Jacob whimpered outside, in his wolf form, and Bella told him to stop and go away. Then, Edward and Bella let Jacob inside, and Edward and Jacob noticed that Bella was freezing cold. So, Jacob opened Bella's sleeping bag and went in it with her and slept with her. He forced the zipper to zip behind him. In the morning, Jacob had his arms around Bella very tightly, and she told Edward to help her. With one swift motion, Edward unzipped the sleeping bag and Jacob was dumped on the floor. Jacob then complained, and Bella scolded Edward for dumping him on the floor.

Edward apologized, and when Jacob left, he started talking to Bella again. Edward looked upset, and Bella asked what was the problem. And, Edward responded that she was talking in her sleep, and he turned away again. Bella was confused and didn't know what was wrong, so she asked what she said in her sleep. Edward smiled and said that she was talking about him, and then before she woke up, she was talking about "Jacob, my Jacob," nonsense. Bella was sorry, and realized that she loved both of them.

Edward and Bella then started talking about their marriage, and then they heard a loud whimper outside. It was Jacob, and they realized that he was listening to everything that they had said.

Then, later, Bella slept again, and she could hear everything that Jacob and Edward were saying. Jacob asked numerous questions, about Edward, and then said, "You might have to consider that I am better for her then you are." And Edward told him that he was pretty much right, but Edward just wanted Bella to be happy.

After that more talking between Jacob and Edward, Jacob left. Bella woke up again and talked to Edward more. Edward then left, and Bella was alone. She went outside, and found Seth Clearwater, in wolf form in the trees. Later, Jacob and a couple of other members of he wolf pack came. Bella was relieved that Jacob came back, and wanted him to stay.

Jacob wanted to go back to the fight, but Bella resisted and wanted Jacob to stay really bad. Bella then asked Jacob to kiss her, and he thought that she was kidding because she was getting married to Edward. Then, they kissed passionately for a while, and Jacob released telling Bella that she could do better. As a threat, Bella pulled Jacob's hair, trying to hurt him, but Jacob found that as a flirt, so he continued to kiss him. That was then when Bella realized that she loved Jacob too.

Later, Edward found out and he was not mad. And, even later on, Victoria came with a vampire, Riley. Victoria pretended to love Riley, but she obviously didn't. Edward told Riley that this was his chance to leave, and also told him that Victoria loved a vampire named James, who died, and that is why she is trying to kill Bella. Edward eventually killed Victoria, and thought that he had scared or frightened Bella, but she told him that she wasn't scared.

Then, a cry came out of Seth Clearwater, and Edward read his mind. Edward found out that Jacob had gotten hurt. This was because Leah Clearwater was trying to kill a newborn vampire by herself, and Jacob came to help her. Then, Jacob got hurt, but Leah didn't.

When the Cullens, Bella, and the werewolves got back to Forks, Washington, Jacob said to everyone that he had gotten hurt on a motorcycle ride. Charlie then told Bella that she should never ride a motorcycle again because of what happened to Jacob.

Bella came over by Jacob, and went in his room. They laid down on his bed in his house, and talked for a while. When they were done visiting each other, Bella said, "This sucks, loving each other like this." And Jacob said, "Yeah." Bella then said, "Love you." And Jacob responded, "Love you more."

In the epilogue, the end, it was written in Jacob's point of view. Mr. Black told Jacob that he had a fancy letter for him and Jacob wondered why. It was Edward and Bella's wedding invitation. Jacob could tell that Bella didn't have anything to do with this, let alone didn't like it. Jacob got so angry that he left his house and changed into werewolf form and ran away. It said at the very last sentence that 'he left Jacob Black behind him'. (This is also why in the beginning of the final novel, Breaking Dawn, that Jacob Black is missing. He did not attend the wedding.)
