Elizabeth's first impression of Darcy was that he was arrogant and thoughtless of others. She based this on the experience she had at the Meriton Assembly, very early in the book, where she overheard him say of her that she was tolerable, but not enough to tempt him. Also, at the same assembly, Darcy would only dance with women he already knew well, and would not talk with the local people.
Darcy's first impression of the Bennet family was that they were ill mannered. He objected to their "situation," probably meaning that their connections were inferior, and referred to their "total want of propriety" in the letter he sent Elizabeth.
Mr.Darcy's first impression of Elizabeth Bennett was that she was no more than an extremely plain looking girl, whom would no doubt be boring and uneducated/intelligent which he said aloud when she was in easy hearing distance :)
After hearing the full story of how Darcy helped prevent her sister's elopement, Elizabeth's impression of Darcy improved significantly. She realized the depth of his affection for her and his efforts to protect her family, which ultimately led her to reassess her negative opinions of him.
Darcy is mainly the proud character, however we see some of it in Elizabeth at the beginning when she is hurt by Darcy's comment, as if she wasn't proud it wouldn't have affected her. And Prejudice can be seen in her as she counts everything Darcy does as faults as she is blinded by her prejudice...
at first, elizabeth finds mr. benett as a rude, selfish, conceited, and haughty person and she wants nothing to do with him.
Yes. In the beginning, Darcy was too proud and arrogant in his proposal which makes Elizabeth really infuriated and turned off by him. Besides, Elizabeth's didn't have a good impression of Darcy right from the start, hence this dislike further adds on to the reason why she rejected Darcy. It was only after the gradual realisation of her misunderstanding that Elizabeth gradually started to realised her mistake and started to see the good side of Darcy.
Georgiana Darcy is more shy and reserved than Elizabeth expected. Elizabeth also discovers that Georgiana is deeply loyal and caring towards her loved ones, which contrasts with her initial impression of her as being timid and fragile.
Darcy proposed to Elizabeth for the first time.
Her "fine eyes"
Lydia's trip to Brighton, then came Lizzie's own trip.
Wickham tells Elizabeth that Darcy denied him a promised living and that he had been ill-treated by him and cheated out of his inheritance. Wickham portrays Darcy in a negative light, leading Elizabeth to form a negative opinion of him.
When Jane asks this, Elizabeth says she really cannot say, except that it might be when she first saw Pemberly. The idea that it started with seeing Pemberly is, of course, a joke. As a reader, I get the impression that the beginning dates to her reading of the letter from Darcy, which tells her not only that she has been mistaken about Wickham, but that she has also been mistaken about Darcy.
