Probably not, if the solar panels are installed properly, there will be a convection space in the shade beneath the panels and on top of the roof, which could shade the roof and reduce the amount of heat transmitted to the attic. Hi: Ditto to the above reply, I would just like to add that these things properly installed and in favorable areas are a big plus. I do recommend you purchase quality products and follow their instructions completely. Check out your area and its ability to perform well as a solar energy cell type envioronment before you invest in anything but a good profession reference book. Be sure you ask questions from someone knowledgable and not someone just trying to hawk their wares. Try the Federal Government and its informative materials and data on what you wish to try. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY! I have personally seen more people sapped into buying things that are not even a good idea for their areas in first place. One example would be a wind turbine that produces backup for solar cells where the wind norm is well belowe its design.
