Nursing practice which is based on research evidence. Basically it means that studies have been made to find which way of doing something is best, and then the findings are implemented in the hospital or whatever healthcare setting. For example, a study may have been done where two different dressings for pressure sores were used. The dressing which gave the better result (quicker wound healing time/comfort/ease of use etc) would then be used for future pressure sores.
You will need a nurse to provide the care. It is important that they keep track of everything for this kind of care to work.
