Fair trade is a concept where the initial producer (the farmer) gets a better (fair) price for his product than he would get if he sold to a middle man who makes allot of profit. The idea is that with a 'fair trade' logo on a product, the end consumer (ie you) can be confident you are making an ethical purchase knowing the farmer is making a reasonable living wage and looking after the environment of his farm.
Thus Fair Trade clothes would have the raw materials (cotton) supplied by the fair method and perhaps even the fabric is made this way too.
