Fog is nothing but is like a cloud near ground surface which consists of suspended water particles much smaller than in a actual cloud in sky.

During the day air is warm and humid and when the temperature is down, the water vapor in air condenses and forms fog which sticks near the ground and it further condenses in the form of dew drops which you can see in the morning on grass and leaves and often in the flowers too.

What is the basic difference between a cloud and fog?

Clouds are formed high in the atmosphere and consist of tiny water droplets or ice crystals, while fog is a cloud that forms near the ground when the air close to the surface becomes saturated with moisture. Fog reduces visibility and is typically denser than clouds.

What are fog catchers?

Fog catchers, also known as fog nets or fog harvesters, are structures designed to capture moisture from fog. They typically consist of large mesh nets that collect tiny water droplets suspended in the air, which then coalesce and drip into collection troughs. This technology is particularly useful in arid regions where traditional water sources are scarce, providing a sustainable way to harvest water for local communities and agriculture. Fog catchers can significantly contribute to water supply in environments where rainfall is limited.
