Italy decided to become a member of the European Union ( EU ) to benefit from the economical benefits being a member provided and also for the political benefits. The EU makes trade easier by the creation of the Euro Dollar. This saves currency exchange hassles. The EU helps promote trade amongst its members as well. On the political side, Italy would be able to improve its relations with other European members through the trade and economic benefits stated above.
