One of the advantages of having a self defrosting freezer is no need to manually clean up the ice build up. Another great thing about manually defrostation is frozen foods are not as prone to stick together.

Frost-free freezers are beneficial because you never have to defrost them because of their fluctuating temperatures. Unfortunately foods, especially those with high in fat, degrade with the fluctuating temperature.
