I own two of the same motor, good luck with yours.
An 18 hp Evinrude outboard, model 18202 would be a 1972 year model.
The fuel mix is 24:1
A 18hp Mercury outboard, serial number 5955388 is a 1982 year model.
Mid 80s
The oil mixture for that motor is 1 pint of oil to 6 gallons of gas
paid 150.00 for a 1972 in perfect shape
A 1957 Evinrude 18 hp weighs 85 pounds, so I would assume the Johnson 18 hp would be about the same, give or take a few pounds.
I dont know how old this thread is, but my 18 hp johnson evinrude with serial number 18304 A is a 1973 model.
18hp
the 15hp murc is the best relay an 18hp and are cheap new i bought my 15hp murc with and 18hp relay and go it for $1800 brand new and runs the best i have ever seen and much faster and cheaper than Yamaha
On average 1 HP Equals 25-30 lbs of thrust Depending on Prop Pitch. So a 15 HP would give you 450 lbs of thrust. I had a 18HP Evinrude Fastwin on a 14 ft Aluminum Jon Boat that would get water ski's or Hydro Slider on plane.
Champion RN11YC; this was used for the Kawasaki 18hp & what I use in my 1988 JD 185
