Either the water is too cold or you are not giving the product enough time. It can take up to 2 weeks to totally dissolve. But in warm water it can disappear within 24 - 48 hrs. k
You do need to make sure that any chlorine or chloramine is neutralised before adding fish of any kind to it or vice-versa. Yabbies are shellfish/crustacea. I just realised you wrote 'Yabbies' so you must be in OZ. So you can go the best way ie No Chemicals. OK! Your council will not be adding chloramine so all you need to do is let the water stand for a few hours before using it. Chlorine is a gas and will evaporate off particularly if you spray the water into its container.
my guess would be the rings (on the piston inside the motor) are worn past the point of being able to keep the oil out of the combution chamber. Try changing the oil and going with a higher grade (maybe 10w-40) for example or replace one quart of oil with lucas oil stabilzer
A Technical Service Bulletin in 1999 or 2000 says it is probably the anti sway bar (also called stabilzer bar) bushings. You might want to first check the power steering fluid. Mine make that noise when power steering fluid is low.
that might make it unrepairable in the future, i suggest repairing the frame first by fabricating a suitable piece of metal ( same or thicker than original and much larger than the broken area ) and welding or bolting it in place, then rebuild the mount for the stabilizer on the new frame peice you have built.
